The Culture of Resistance Video Project is a video series created originally for Blacked-Out Media, a television program produced by The New York City Independent Media Center Video Team. As part of Blacked-Out Media it was aired on the over 300 cable access stations in the US and on the satillite network. It has since taken form here as an online database. Submissions for The Culture of Resistance Video Project are always welcome. If you have something you'd like us to host or a link that you think would be suitable to add to the database please let us know.

In a movement that goes against the grain of popular videos produced by the Left, which commonly represent problems (including their reasons for existing) as their central their subject matter, The Culture of Resistance Video Project aims to redirect focus. This project is underwriten with an understanding that representing problems, as problems in and of themselves (whether or not their reason for existing is included), contributes to a reified sense of powerlessness on the Left (and also in the minds of the becoming Left) by inflating understandings about the power of "those in power". In light of this, The Video Project does not endorse the liberal reactionary position that would present "positive solutions" as a response. Rather The Culture of Resistance aims to reclaim that which such a liberal position would seek to distance itself by maintaining "problems" the central subject in such a way as to present them in a light which reveals their true nature as solutions.
